The episode is pretty interesting (you can also watch part 1, 3 and 4 on youtube). Afro-American women are not the only with this situation. Here in Puerto Rico many girls also have this type of hair. Many of us were picked on at school for having “big/messy hair”. I guess women choose what side of the battle they want to be in. The side were blowers, irons and chemicals surround your weekly basis to become whatever it is you want to become; or the side where you can explore and accept your roots.
Either way, knowledge and acceptance of what you are is the key.
